Pinned topic Changing NSD device type

‏2012-09-13T18:46:39Z |
Does anybody know if changing the NSD device type is destructive in anyway?

I have system which currently runs RDAC but I have to change it to DM-Multipath.

I plan on using the following command to change the device type from generic to dmm:

mmchnsd updateNsdType=/tmp/change

The file contains the following:

disk01 dmm
disk02 dmm
etc

Thanks in advance

Chris

You need to unmount the filesystem(s) everywhere that use those devices. Then remount after the change has propagated to all nodes.

The command to change the NSD subtype is mmchconfig rather than mmchnsd.
