Is it possible to change the boot order of a partition from the command line without booting it and doing so from sms? Or to change the default order for new images? Right now when I add a virtual disk (Which is bootable) my partitions still try to boot from the network, I can go change that manually for each one but that's not exactly an ideal solution.

Re: Change SMS boot order from VIOS command line.2012-09-05T17:41:02ZThis is the accepted answer. This is the accepted answer.you mean the bootlist. it is stored in the nvram of the lpar.
it can be set permanently (nv=non volatile) with the aix bootlist command.
if you want to override the bootlist use the adequate parameter for the chsysstate hmc command when activating the lpar.
