Pinned topic Change SMS boot order from VIOS command line.

‏2012-09-04T18:10:33Z |
Is it possible to change the boot order of a partition from the command line without booting it and doing so from sms? Or to change the default order for new images? Right now when I add a virtual disk (Which is bootable) my partitions still try to boot from the network, I can go change that manually for each one but that's not exactly an ideal solution.

Any ideas?

you mean the bootlist. it is stored in the nvram of the lpar.
it can be set permanently (nv=non volatile) with the aix bootlist command.

if you want to override the bootlist use the adequate parameter for the chsysstate hmc command when activating the lpar.
