When GPFS is used on SLES 11 SP2 (Linux 3.0 kernel), under certain workloads (in particular when NFS export of GPFS file systems is involved) a deadlock in kernel code may occur. The problem is currently under investigation. Customers are advised NOT to upgrade to SLES 11 SP2 until a fix is available. This announce forum and the GPFS FAQ (http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/clresctr/vxrx/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.cluster.gpfs.doc/gpfs_faqs/gpfs_faqs.html) will be updated when the fix is available.
