RM comes with a bunch of reports, I am mainly interesting in building a list of ready-to-be-disposed records.
I understand RM comes with Crystal Report (CR) reports that hence require a CR implementation - $$ on top of Filenet.
I am looking for anyone's experience who would have bypassed CR to use something else in order to create a list of ready-to-be disposed-of records.
So far I have been able to:
1 find the reports from the RM install package, it actually comes with quite a few
2 open the report with CR designer but still trying to understand it in order to extract the query it does against the Filenet DB.
3 seen that rpt to rdl converters exist but somehow are not legit as per CR license
Any experience or input towards this goal will be useful.

This is the accepted answer. From an IBM perspective we do not support generating reports using any tool other than Crystal. That said, in the P8 InfoCenter we do provide information on the queries that are used for the reports and information on how to customize the templates.
Refer to the following link for information on the SQL queries
And to the following link for general information on customization
If you want to generate reports using a different tool, then the only method I am aware of is to use the CE and RM APIs to extract the data you want to an external location and then use your report tool of choice with the extracted data.
