Pinned topic RDp 8.5 vs RDp 8.0.3.1

‏2012-08-02T15:48:35Z |
I am hearing about RDp 8.5, but when I use installation manager to update my current version (8.0.0) it is showing 8.0.3.1 as the most current version.
Am I missing something?
Thank You,
Michael Guenther

This is treated by IBM as a new version (despite having the same version number 8) - you need to get the new version from the download site as you would if it were (say) a V9 product.

I think you also need to get updated keys - hopefully one of the BMers who watch this list can confirm that. I am a bit confused about it as some people have told me they did not need a new key and others have said that they needed a new one. Go figure.

Ratioanl support advised me that if you have 8.0.3 installed, you can install 8.5 without getting new keys. I tried it and that was correct.

    Jon,

    I am now 8.5 ALIVE !!
I did NOT need new keys.
I installed it as a separate group so that I could go back to 8.0.0 if need be.
It does use the same shared directory as 8.0.0 though (I couldn't see how to change this in the install).

    Thank You for your help,
    Michael
