Pinned topic RFT 8.2.2 Unhandled exception

‏2012-07-24T07:48:37Z |
Hi all,
after a update with the Installation Manager my scripts work a few times and then I allways got this errors. I don´t realize that I have change anything. My OS is Windows 7 Prof, 64- Bit and the RFT is 8.2.2. .
What can be the reason for this error?

    Hi,

    I'm also dealing with a similar core dump:

    1XHEXCPCODE J9Generic_Signal_Number: 00000004
    1XHEXCPCODE ExceptionCode: C0000005
    1XHEXCPCODE ExceptionAddress: 344CFCC3
    1XHEXCPCODE ContextFlags: 0001003F
    1XHEXCPCODE Handler1: 7FEFA120
    1XHEXCPCODE Handler2: 7FECC0E0
    1XHEXCPCODE InaccessibleAddress: 00000010
    NULL
    1XHEXCPMODULE Module: C:\Program Files\IBM\SDP\FunctionalTester\bin\rtxivsys.dll
    1XHEXCPMODULE Module_base_address: 34490000
    1XHEXCPMODULE Offset_in_DLL: 0003FCC3

    Interesting point is, when I simplify my script, I don't get any dump. So my code is doing something bad that crashes the whole JVM. Couldn't determine the exact code for now though.

    I recommend you to simplify what you're doing in your script and enhance step by step..

    By the way, I'm running the same script code on 2 different machines; one with RFT v8.2.2 and the other with v8.1.1.3. Both JVMs crash. Both of the machines are XP SP3.

    Thanks for your reply, But i can´t simplify my script anymore. It is also very simple, i have only a login, two clicks on some open and close button and that´s it.
    What i don´t understand is that i could run my script a few times at the beginning and then i get this error. And i change nothing. Can this error results from some configurations? Or something like that?

    The problem may be related with datapool iteration. You close something in your application then in the next iteration open it again. When the time between iterations is very small, there could be a problem.

    Could you share your code?

    I don´t think that the code is the problem, because every code i try to run returns me this error. The simpel script where i open the browser with google and search for one word, returns me the same.
    That´s the code for this example.

    You can try to comment out everything in your code, run the empty script once, then open the code one by one. If you get the same dump even with the empty script, this is a serious problem :)

    I can start my application without som error, and then i make my first action "click on search" and the error is there.
    Now i know where the error is starting but i still don´t understand what i can do to run my scrpts again? I still don´t know what the reason for this error is, because this simpel action can´t realy be the reason...

    I forgot to tell you that this error is not the only thing that happens when i run my scripts. Everytime i get the error, the RFT copys 3 files in my project.( core.20120731.092135.1212.0001 , javacore.20120731.092135.1212.0002 and Snap.20120731.092135.1212.0003).

    Hi, did you solve your problem? Can you try to wait for browser to get ready before you click Search? You can user browser().waitForExistance() for this.

    What about clickint search manually? Sleep for 3 seconds and while your script sleeps, you click the button manually. See if this helps.

    Re: RFT 8.2.2 Unhandled exception

    ‏2012-10-01T13:01:23Z
    Hi All:

    I'm using Windows 7 Enterprise version and RFT Version: 8.2.2.1 to debugging following simple code:

    1

    public

    void testMain(Object[] args) 2
    { 3         RootTestObject root = getRootTestObject() ; 4           TestObject [] allButtons = root.find(atDescendant(
    ".class",
    "java.swing.JButton")); 5

    if (allButtons.length > 0) 6
    { 7

    for (

    int i = 0 ; i<allButtons.length ; i++) 8                              System.out.println(allButtons[i].getProperties()) ; 9
    } 10
    }

    I got exactly error message as first post at line 4 even I tried to reinstall RFT at least three times.

    Please try the following flag with value set to false

    _rational.test.ft.browser.infest_on_demand=false_

    Also this defect has been reported and fixed in the upcoming release of RFT http://post 8.2.2.1
    NOTE- ivory.properties file (on 32 bit default installation) - C:\Program Files\IBM\SDP\FunctionalTester\Bin

    In the ivory.properties file
    <Install directory's SDP folder>\bin\ivory.properties, look for the following flag
    rational.test.ft.browser.infest_on_demand=true
    and set it to false
    rational.test.ft.browser.infest_on_demand=false

    RFT and any enabled application like browsers should be closed
    Then try the playback again.
