Pinned topic Variables missing from Outline view

‏2012-07-17T05:53:25Z |
Hello!
After installing release 8.5 I have noticed that stand alone variables declared via *LIKE DEFINE is missing from the Outline view.
Is there a fix for that ?

    Hello Per,

With RD Power 8.5, the ILE RPG Outline view was enhanced to provide automatic updating of the contents. However, there are some limitations with this currently and I think you encountered one of them.

In http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21592728, it mentions "references for DEFINE opcode with *LIKE factor 1 are not included ".

You can turn off the automatic updating of the Outline view in the ILE RPG parser preferences to avoid this issue. You can also report the issue to support so that we can investigate further and ensure that this is worked on.

    Thanks,
    Eric

Thanks for this info. I thought i was going crazy. :-) Lets hope RD Power 9 addresses these issue's. I edit a lot of converted sources so *like defines are pretty common.

    Back to manual update...
