Pinned topic Monitoring for DB2 Workload Manager

‏2012-07-05T04:39:12Z |
Hi,

I am using OPM to have visualized monitoring for WLM. The histogram distribution vision is particularly useful for such kind of task. However, I only found three types of histogram available in OPM, which are ACTIVITY LIFT TIME, ACTIVITY QUEUE TIME and ACTIVITY ESTIMATED COST, regardless for service subclasses or workloads. As we all know here, WLM has 5 types of statistics histogram for monitoring, the missing types are ACTIVITY EXECUTION TIME, ACTIVITY INTER-ARRIVAL TIME.

Could anyone please help with this? Thanks so much!

    Hi,
you are right, not all historgrams that DB2 provide have a graphical representation on the OPM Web UI.
If you use teh WLM reports in OPM, then you get the Life Time, Execution Time, queue Time and Cost histogram.
But the interarrival time is missing there also.
The data is available in the repository database and it is the plan to extend OPM in future with a set of described table funtions to query the repository database and extract the information you need.
This way you could get the interarrival time histogram.

    Hi Baumbach,

Thanks for your clarification. Would that be possible to tell when and in what release/version these histograms get to be available? As they are still very essential for WLM monitoring. Thanks!
