Pinned topic zEnterprise connection / eezcs: get site, where virtual server runs?

‏2012-07-04T14:05:54Z |
Hello,

I wrote some scripts to restart a virtual server via eezcs. Now, I'd like to prepare some scripts for disaster scenarios. Therefore I need an information about the site, where the virtual server is running. At zHMC I find this information in the Member column (see attachment).
Do you have any idea how to get this via eezcs?
lsnode -Abft did not help:

tsaadm@LDE5012Q:/home/tsaadm$ eezcs -D SA.T.ZBXTEST -c "lsnode -Abft"
Name Operating Observed Excluded Node Virtual VirtualServer VirtualizationHost Virtualization
System State Startable Server State Type Host

zdst005.11.am-gruppe.de Unknown no yes zdst005 not-operating Blade B.1.01

Thanks,
Thomas

    Hi,

the information you refer to in your screenshot is the CPC name.
This CPC Name is displayed in the SA Operations Console if you click on a node and look at the Hosting Environment tab.

Unfortunately, the CPC name is currently not displayed in lsnode via eezcs.

    One workaround could be:
Use the virtualization host name to map a node to a specific site. You would need to keep a list of virtualization hosts for each site, or use a naming schema in your virtualization host name from which you can derive the site information.
Right now your virtualization host is named "B.1.01", which probably doesn't really help. Is it an option to name it differently, so that you can associate it with a specific site?

If this workaround does not work for you, please open a PMR and we will add the missing CPC information to the lsnode output.

    Kind regards,

      Hi,

yes, I need the CPC name.
Unfortunately, I think you can't change the name of the virtualization host in zBx, so this is no option.
      Therefore I opened a PMR (93955 033 724).

      Thanks,
