I have *.mdc files stored on my hard drive created using Cognos 7.4 PowerPlay. I need to be able to view the content of the files. What version of Cognos should I buy for this purpose? Is there a possibility of buying Cognos 7.4 or maybe some of the latest software can properly open these old *.mdc files? My budget is also limited and I don't need additional functionalities.

Note that I tested that an mdc file created by cogtr.exe 8.4 can be opened by a PowerPlat client 7.4. You get the idea.

One thing is still uncertain for me.
Does IBM can provide me with PowerPlat client 7.4 + licence or I must buy only recent latest versions (8.4, 10+)?
(becouse f.e 7.4 is not supported anymore and not available for sale)
