Pinned topic v8.5 installation on Windows 7 failed

Got the following error:

CRIMA1154E: Error installing.
'plug-in com.ibm.jee5.api.doc_1.1.0.v20110712_2011' not found in C:\Download\install_RAD 8.5\INSTALL_FINAL\RAD\disk1/ad.

Please advise.

    Hello:

    What you need to do is not to use the launchpad directly.

    Install the IM 1.5.2 that comes with the package.

    Then do an update to IM 1.5.3 (you need to launch IM , then File->Preferences->Internet, select the options to
    "Search Installation Manager Updated". Then click on.
    Then press the Update to update IM.

    Restart IM.153

    Manually set up the repository

    File->Preferences->Repository
    add repository
    browse to the folder where you have unzipped all your RAD disk , you should have disk 1 , disk 2, disk 3 and disk 4 under the
    same folder.

    Then select disk1\disktag.inf
    Press okay
    Then you can install RAD and it should have no issues.

      Hi Sir,

      Even I was facing the same issue. Inputs were very helpful provided by you. I followed the exact steps and was able to install RAD 8.5 successfully.

      Thank you for your response. I've done all the steps that you've outlined (upgraded installation manager to 1.5.3, added repositories) but still got the same error. Please advise.

        Will it make any difference if the installation manager was previously installed when I installed Worklight 5.0? I've also un-install RAD 8.0.4 prior to installing RAD 8.5

          I had the same error as you and the instructions above worked for me. I, like you, had Installation Manager from installing Worklight Studio but I uninstalled Worklight when I got the initial error. After following the instructions above I was able to reinstall Worklight afterward I installed RAD 8.5. Note that if you downloaded Worklight Studio or any of the the WAS Test Environments (eg WAS 8.5, WAS 8.0, WAS 7) with RAD 8.5 you need to add all those as Installation Manager repositories as well.

      The issue of the errors is due to some corruption of the master disc (credit to TSE saeed)

      If you really want to use the launchpad approach, otherwise the IM approach should work.
      I always try to avoid the launchpad .

      The temporary solution to this situation is to ask customer to download the master disk from the following link and use it instead of the corrupted one:
      http://public.dhe.ibm.com/software/rationalsdp/v85/temp/rad/RAD_WS_8.5_Master_1.zip

        Just to let you know that it helped me get passed the error and I could install RAD with the separate package with no troubles. Thanks!

        The below response of yours helped a lot in getting the installation done.

        Thanks very much. It saved time for me.

        However, I did not find how to give you the "stars" as such in the forum.

        I wish IBM updates their repository with the correct file that retrieves the file by the part number.

      Hi,

      Thanks for this post, it helped me solve install issue on XP also.
      It also works for error like this (and similar ones):

      feature com.ibm.datatools.analysis_2.1.100.v20120426_1525 not found in c:\rad_v8.5\install\RAD\disk1/ad

      This is very sad, that out of the box install fails by default. :-(
      Should be clearly stated somewhere on the support site, maybe it is, but I couldnt find it ...

      Be sure to select the disktag.inf file, not the repository.config file.

    Not relevant topic, but what RAM do You have in Your PC and how much Heap Memory XMX needs IBM Rad 8.5? I have simply problems with update of RAD 7.5 - xmx Memory problems..

    We had the same issue and was resolved by downloading http://public.dhe.ibm.com/software/rationalsdp/v85/temp/rad/RAD_WS_8.5_Master_1.zip and installing.

    I got the same issue. I can't install RAD_8.5.

    First I can't lanch the installer with the launchpad, then when I run install.exe in ..\V8.5\RAD_SETUP\InstallerImage_win32_win32_x86\ folder the installation starts but it says can not find the disks with the CRIMA1154E error.

    I tried http://public.dhe.ibm.com/software/rationalsdp/v85/temp/rad/RAD_WS_8.5_Master_1.zip  but it does not help me.

    Any suggestion?
