Pinned topic Size limitations on MS SQL stored proc. output parameters

‏2012-06-15T15:27:14Z |

I have a stored procedure in SQL 2005 which sets the value of an output parameter defined as NVARCHAR(MAX). When the sp is run within SSMS the parameter is set to the expected value with a length of 27000

In Cast Iron Studio the parameter is mapped to a LONGVARCHAR however when the sp is run within Cast Iron studio the value is truncated at 4000 characters which just so happens to be the limit of the NCHAR SQL datatype...

I'm running Studio but have tried it with which also exhibits the same problem.

We have a workaround but am curious as to whether this is a bug or limitation of CI Studio.

Any advice/help appreciated.
