Re: DOORS 9.3 server license changes2012-06-14T01:23:09ZThis is the accepted answer. This is the accepted answer.Would recommend that you have a look at the ReadMe information for DOORS version 9.3 - click here to go IBM's on line reference for DOORS 9.3. Bookmark this page - it is essentially the on-line help for everything about DOORS version 9.3.
You will see a section in the Right Hand pane called "Overview and Installing", under this is a link to the latest ReadMe information. The ReadMe page will have a link to "Obtaining a License" which gives details about what license server is required for 9.3 and what to do with licensing if you're upgrading from an earlier version of DOORS.
As for the license dongles - I assume that you're talking about the USB dongles and not the old parallel port dongles. If it's the USB dongles, these require a FlexNet license file that will only work with that USB - the USB will have a unique FlexID number on it that is used to create an encrypted license key. Depending on your support level arrangements with IBM, these license files for USB dongles are usually either time locked or locked to a specific major version of DOORS. You will need to check with IBM if they are still supporting these USB dongles given that you can now borrow licenses from your license server which effectively allows a laptop to have access to a local license when not connected to a network.
