Pinned topic Executing Impromptu Report on Unix

‏2012-06-05T13:49:02Z |
Hi All,
I have a impromptu report and a windows batch script which executes the report and sends the output to email id's. This batch job is currently scheduled on windows machine.
Now there is requirement of calling the windows batch script from other Unix jobs.
Is this possible.? If yes please let me know the steps.
OR
Is there a way out to execute the report in Unix.?

Thanx in advance.

Regards,
Mistry

In IWR the reports can be executed by calling an Event. The IWR Adminstrator's Guide has information on how to create and call an event from an external program called iwrruncmd. Look in the documentation for the topic "Create an Event".

      Hi Phil,
Thanx for your reply. I have just one question : Can runmac32.exe command work in Unix env.
Currently I have a batch file which runs report using rumac32.exe file.
      Thanx in advance.

      Regards,
      Mistry

It doesn't seem like there is a unix equivalent for this but I haven't ever had to consider trying to use a macro from a unix server. Most of the time the macros are meant to automate client applications and so you would only be working with Windows components anyway. If you are talking about running the reports on a unix server then this would mean using Impromptu Web Reports which is a server component rather than a client tool. For IWR you would use the iwrruncmd command to call an event which would then execute the associated reports.
