    Hello,

For installation, I use the following command :

cd expc # where you unpacked the DB2 Express-C installation image
    ./db2_install -b /opt/ibm/db2/V10.1 -f NOTSAMP -p EXPC -n

It is quick, straightforward, and installs everything I want without requiring a buggy Java environment.

If you want to install the German language, the following should work, after downloading and unpacking the NLS package :

    ./db2_install -b /opt/ibm/db2/V10.1 -f NOTSAMP -p EXPC -n -L DE

I can't understand why this db2_install command has been "deprecated" in DB2 10.1...

I had the same problem on Ubuntu 64 bit. Here is the fix: Install ia32-libs package. DB2's java environment requires a lot 32bit libraries.

    Hello,

i have read your message, now i execute your command samples,
nothing works the same jvm crash as before , so i have check with
the advanced data base server 10.1 , jvm crash.
Okay, then i install the Relase DB2 9.7 FixPack 6 Server and surprise,
    he works without any problem.
My opinion the JAVA integrate in the DB2 10.1 are the problem,
Nothing helps the DB2 10.1 Discovery Kit DVD, this are only 32 Bit install images
it's not installable on my 64 Bit Linux.

    regards

Ok my mistake I didn't see that you have already attached the trace file. I will get back to you asap.

Anyway as you mentioned that you have already installed DB2v10 successfully couple of times before then I guess there should be no problem with v10 installer. Also as suggested in previous post, have u tried db2_install utility to install DB2??
    Thanks

Could you please try db2_install script which is a command line utility and see if you are able to install DB2. Meanwhile I am looking into the issue.

    Thanks

Hi, now i have change the Linux release and done the db2setup from the db2 10.1 , the same problems with the jvm as before, i have attach the logfiles
on the same hardware i have install the first release of openSUSE 12,2 the M1 with this release the db2 10.1 works fine, on all new release the same jvm crash, as
last i have tested the install procedure on my notebook with the brandnew openSUSE 12.2 Beta2 and the new Kernel 3.5.0 , result the same crash of the jvm.
The Db2 9.7.6 works on all releases absolutly fine a really stable.
