‏2012-05-31T13:31:00Z |
Hello

I have configured me DS3524. Now i should change me IP Adress on both Controller. Bud the Controller is gray so i can not change the IP Adress.
Sometimei have seen that the Icon is black but the Controller Windows does not open.
Witch is the best way to change the ip Adress on the Controller.

    Hi,
can you ping IPs of both controllers? If yes try to remove the DS3524 from the Storage Manager window and add it again.
If you can't ping the IPs check if cables are connected. If this does not help try to connect to the 2nd mgmt ports of both controllers.
The default IP addresses of the first management Ethernet ports are:
    Controller A: 192.168.128.101
    Controller B: 192.168.128.102
The default IP addresses of the second management Ethernet ports are:
    Controller A: 192.168.129.101
    Controller B: 192.168.129.102

Hopefully you did not change these IPs as well.

    rgds Karl.

      Hi Kurt,
there are 2 ways you can change your IPs in the GUI (this might be a little bit different in your setup as this depends also on the firmware release you are running; I checked on one of my old DS4700 but it should work pretty much the same way on your system).

      1. right click on the controller -> change -> network configuration
      2. left click on the controller -> controller (in top tab menu) -> change -> network configuration

So I think the trick you are missing is that you have to select the controller first then the menu should no longer be gray.

      Hope this helps.

      rgds Karl.

    Hi Karl

I have tried to change the ip address also on this way. If i click the controller non window is open for changeing the ip address.
I have also tried via telnet, but i do not have a password for this connection. All password i found on the web are not working. I have installed the new Controller firmware. Mybe the have change the default password.
