Pinned topic appcmd included in tsamp version 3.2.2.2?

‏2012-05-22T14:59:11Z |
A colleague has installed tsamp 3.2.2.2. on an AIX 6.1 machine. I want to test this new version with appcmd Applications. I installed it in an own directory. As I called it only with 'appcmd setcfg ..' I realized that the command is used from /usr/sbin/rsct/bin
Is appcmd now integrated in the new version or installed my colleague this? I searched in all tsamp documents, but found no hint. (My colleague is on holiday, so I cannot ask him...)

    Hi Katrin,

we included appcmd in SAMP 3.2.2.2 for convenience so that prototype policies are easier to test.

    Hi René,

    thank you for your answer.
It would be nice, if there is any hint in documentation.;-)
Furthermore I have to add the appcmd to our sudoers list? I do not have root permission.
I got following results for this command
    appcmd setcfgfile /tmp/appcmd/appcmd.cfg
mkdir /opt/IBM/tsamp/sam/cfg/appcmd: The file access permissions do not allow the specified action. at /usr/bin/appcmd line 315

    best regards
    Karin

    Hello Karin,

appcmd is not yet documented. The location of the folder containing the status files is hard-coded to /opt/IBM/tsamp/sam/cfg/appcmd.
I guess you need root permissions since appcmd creates this folder and file in this folder. The location of that folder needs to be made configurable.

If you use the appcmd which is installed with SA MP you need to specify the full qualified path in Start-, Stop- and MonitorCommand,
even if appcmd lies in the path.

    Regards,
    Martin

    Hello Martin,

    thank you for this information.
I'll inform my colleague to update the sudoers.
