Pinned topic disk migration

i have ds3200 and following disks inside:

IBM Option 40K1044
IBM FRU: 39R7350
IBM P/N: 26K5842

146.8 GB
15k rpm
SAS

can I migrate these disks to ds3512 or some other new storage

    problem is that upgrading (buying second controller,...) old ds3200 storage must go through service channel and that is too expensive. ds3400 is also old.

    I checked cog information for ds3512 and there aren't any of my disks (from ds3200) listed there, but I wanted to know if there is any possibility for this to work? Both ds3200 and ds3512 are compatible with 3.5" SAS HDD's.

    in short - no.

    DS3500 series use SAS2.0 disk only.

    and DS3400 disk is SAS1.0.

    SAS2.0 have some features which not available in first SAS version.

    so you cannot use disk from DS3400 at DS3500 series (as noted in Alexander Novikov compatibility list above).
