    Ernie,

Did you ever find a solution to this problem? I also am experiencing this problem with db2fmcd on my Redhat 6 64bit system.

Hello to everybody on the Forum.
I have the same problem, but simply I don't want to go back to V9.7.5.

Here the problem description, so far more people could kindly verify in own shop or lab.

In /var/log/messages I find the following sequence of messages:
    - CentOSDB Jun 3 22:50:35 kernel: db2fmcd [6977] general protection ip: 3cac666604 sp: 7fff82621d50 error: 0 in libc-2.12.so [3cac600000 +18 a000]
    - Jun 3 22:50:35 CentOSDB ABRT [6995]: Saved core dump of pid 6977 (/ opt/ibm/db2/V10.1/bin/db2fmcd) to /var/spool/abrt/ccpp-2013-06-03 -22:50:35-6977 (8,318,976 bytes)
    - Jun 3 22:50:35 CentOSDB abrtd: Directory 'CCPP-2013-06-03-22 :50:35-6977' creation detected
    - Jun 3 22:50:35 CentOSDB init: db2fmcd main process (6977) killed by SEGV signal
    - Jun 3 22:50:35 CentOSDB init: db2fmcd main process ended, respawning
    - Jun 3 22:50:35 CentOSDB abrtd: Executable '/ opt/ibm/db2/V10.1/bin/db2fmcd' does not belong to any package
    - Jun 3 22:50:35 CentOSDB abrtd: 'after-create' on '/ var/spool/abrt/ccpp-2013-06-03-22 :50:35-6977' exited with 1
    - Jun 3 22:50:35 CentOSDB abrtd: Corrupted or bad directory '/ var/spool/abrt/ccpp-2013-06-03-22 :50:35-6977', deleting

The cycle is repeated endlessly, every minute, according to the db2fmcd.conf in /etc/init that activates the db2fmcd process.
DB2, such as engine, is not involved, as can be derived from the fact that his db2diag.log does not trace (apparently, level 3) anything and the common features of data management does not seem to be impacted, as seen from application & development level Such an event occurs systematically on the last V10 (downloaded some weeks ago) and on the previous V10 running in few virtual machines since last year. I use VMware Workstation on full x86-64 Intel i7 platform running CentOS 6.4 Linux distribution. You know that the process db2fmcd works in the area of automatic restart of db2, therefore I discovered my problem when DB2 did not restart after rebooting the virtual machine. I'm sure that this does not happen in analogue implementations of  Express C 9.7.5.. I've pending an analogous question to CentOS Forum in Italy.

    Thanks for the support.

    Dear Colleague,

I want inform you that the problem arises from the dasadmin, that is deprecated in V10..

For reasons that I don't know the dasadmin in some way was active or someone trying to weakup it.

I executed the dasdrop system command as root, in /opt/ibm/db2/V10.1/instance.

    The SEGV error stops immediately.

I think that this topic has to be considered closed.

    Thanks for the cooperation.
