We're working on planning CC 8.0 deployment but it's unclear exactly what RHEL/NAS/NFS configurations are supported for CC 8.0.
I'm aware of the RHEL 5u5/NAS/NFS issue in that only RHEL 5u5 w/eratta is supported. The problem is the tech notes don't positively mention anything about RHEL and CC 8.0 when the VOBs are stored on a NAS. I'm assuming (perhaps incorrectly) that RHEL 5u5 would be supported but we'd like to upgrade to RHEL 5u8 or RHEL 6.
Anyone else already have this configuration running? Any issues? Thoughts?

It lists it all, Redhat versions, NAS versions ....
If it is listed there, IBM supports it.
There is that NFS issue to contend with though. We had threads about that recently. You should be able to search for them.

NFS mounting a VOBstore stored on a NAS with any RHEL version later than 5.5 (with errata) will very likely cause problems. I tried it with RHEL 6, CC188.8.131.52, and lit up with errors. Dynamic views kinda worked, CCRC threw errors, snapshot view updates threw errors. If you can stand slow performance, periodic failures on snapshot and CTE view updates, and ignore the errors in the error logs, then it will likely work (but who knows, likely corrupt your VOBs).
I think it would work if you use an alternate method of accessing the VOBstores (something other than NFS), but I can't say for sure, I never tested it out, but based on what i heard, NAS-stored vobstores on RHEL 6.x via some non-NFS mounting 'should' work.
But if you are determined to NAS store NFS-mounted VOBs, I think you are stuck with older than RHEL 5.5 or 5.5 plus errata.
As Martina said, this topic had come up earlier, I probably have comments on some of those threads. Good luck!
