Pinned topic Versioned WPAR 5.2 and mksysb

‏2012-04-18T19:04:04Z |
Hi! I've restored a AIX 5.2 TL10SP8 mksysb in a versioned wpar. Everything is working nicely.
command=> mkwpar -n aix52srv -C -B aix52srv.mksysb

I'm trying to find a way to take the WPAR and restore is back to it's original server.

mksysb doesn't work within the WPAR and the savewpar from the lpar(AIX 7.1 host)command doesn't seem to take a "real" mksysb.

    There's no capability for doing that at this time.

    Dears,

    DR for AIX 5.2 VWPAR on between sites.

    A question: How to do DR (Disaster Recovery) to migrate VWPAR on production site to DR site.

    Thank you very much,

    as far as I remember you can copy wpar to another system/server with some of above utilities:

    $ lslpp -Lc mcr.rte #Package Name:Fileset:Level:State:PTF Id:Fix State:Type:Description:Destination Dir.:Uninstaller:Message Catalog:Message Set:Message Number:Parent:Automatic:EFIX Locked:Install Path:Build Date mcr.rte:mcr.rte:6.1.7.1: : :C:F:Metacluster Checkpoint and Restart: : : : : : :1:0:/:1150 $ lslpp -f mcr.rte|grep bin mcr.rte 6.1.7.0       /usr/sbin/movewpar /usr/sbin/decryptwparstate /opt/mcr/bin /usr/sbin/extractcpu /opt/mcr/bin/killwpar -> /usr/sbin/killwpar /usr/sbin/resumewpar /usr/sbin/encryptwparstate /opt/mcr/bin/wparmemstat -> /usr/sbin/wparmemstat /opt/mcr/bin/decryptwparstate -> /usr/sbin/decryptwparstate /opt/mcr/lbin/forwardsignal -> /usr/lib/mcr/forwardsignal /opt/mcr/bin/encryptwparstate -> /usr/sbin/encryptwparstate /usr/sbin/mcrk /usr/sbin/chkptwpar /usr/sbin/removewparstate /opt/mcr/bin/wparvpid2pid -> /usr/sbin/wparvpid2pid /usr/sbin/mcrk_admin /opt/mcr/bin/genwparstatekey -> /usr/sbin/genwparstatekey /opt/mcr/bin/resumewpar -> /usr/sbin/resumewpar /usr/sbin/wparvpid2pid /opt/mcr/bin/chkptwpar -> /usr/sbin/chkptwpar /opt/mcr/lbin /opt/mcr/bin/movewpar -> /usr/sbin/movewpar /usr/sbin/wparmemstat /usr/sbin/killwpar /opt/mcr/bin/restartwpar -> /usr/sbin/restartwpar /usr/sbin/restartwpar /opt/mcr/bin/removewparstate -> /usr/sbin/removewparstate /usr/sbin/genwparstatekey /opt/mcr/bin/extractcpu -> /usr/sbin/extractcpu $
