Hi,

I assume, Optim will read flat files from prodcution and can put the selection criteria on files to subset the data for right size (Test data Mamangement) using Optim Federation Server? Can anyone confirm on this. Thanks for help!

There is one more way to create subset files from flat archive files. This can be done by using Archive Hold/Expire/Split feature of Optim. This is part of the Optim 8.1.3. Fixpack release.

Take a look at this DeveloperWorks article regarding flat files - Link: http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/data/library/techarticle/dm-0907optimprivacy/
