Pinned topic Data transfer using pipes needs space for LOBs

‏2012-04-11T14:38:26Z |
Using IDMT to transfer data from an Oracle database to DB2 using pipes seems to require space for the intermediate storage of LOBs.

This is not documented, is this a limitation of IDMT, pipes or DB2's LOAD command?

Does this also apply to XML data?

Good catch. When pipes are used, blob, clob and xml data is still unloaded to the filesystem and they are not put on the pipe. I guess that I have not spent time to figure this out how to put LOBS data on the pipe.
