Pinned topic DSN-less ODBC connection to Informix doesn't work

‏2012-03-30T17:53:49Z |
Hi,
I'm using Informix ver. 9.53C1 with ODBC Driver ver. 3.70.00.14558. I'm running Windows 7 64-bit with VS2010. I successfully connected using a DSN, but can't connect using a connection string. The DSN was configured with SysWOW64/obdcad32.exe and is as follows:

Server Name server_name
Host Name xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
Service server_name
Protocol onsoctcp
Database Name db_name
User Id user_id
Password **********

The connection string from the web.config file is:

connectionString="DRIVER={INFORMIX 3.70 32 BIT};
HOST=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx;
SERVER=server_name;
SERVICE=server_name;
PROTOCOL=onsoctcp;
DATABASE=db_name;
UID=user_id;
PWD=********"

Using the connection string throws the following error:
ERROR IM002 MicrosoftODBC Driver Manager Data source name not found and no default driver specified

I have done many searches on the problem, and have only gotten conflicting answers
for what the connection string should be, and have tried them all without success.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Found the problem. The driver name was wrong in the string. Looked at the registry entry in ODBC.INI/ODBC Data Sources and found the right driver name:

    IBM INFORMIX ODBC DRIVER
