Pinned topic Data Studio 3.1 sharing

‏2012-03-28T20:26:38Z |
Hi,

I have DS3.1 installed on a Linux server. Is it possible for different users to use it instead of having to install the standalone version on each Windows workstation?

Thanks

Its possible if you use XenApp virtual environment, the following article provides more details on this environment and setup. Otherwise all the users has to login the linux machine and use the Data Studio but this will limit multiple users accessing the Data Studio at same time.

I would like to know how to start Data Studio once I login to the Linux server. The documentation seems lacking this command.

There are couple of ways to bring up the Data Studio product...

        1. From the terminal window go to your install Data Studio directory and run the "./eclipse" (eg: /opt/IBM/DS3.1/eclipse)

        2. If your linux has windows environment, go to Applications -> IBM Data Studio -> Data Studio Full Client 3.1
