Pinned topic Issues with the use of HTTP methods ?

One of the basic tenets of Linked Data/OSLC is the use of REST and specifically HTTP methods for create/read/update/delete operations

POST for creating a resource
PUT for updating a resource
GET for retrieving a resource
DELETE for removing a resource

Do you think that most network environments are already stable
(or resilient) enough to handle such use ? Or do you think that this
raises issues that need resolving before we can have widespread acceptance of
Linked Data ?
