Hi Guys,

How to find out EMC lun id on AIX system?

Please help me ?

What i deed it like this.
for i in `lspv|awk '{print $1}'`
do
echo "LUN id is of $i:"
lscfg -vpl $i|grep LIC
done

o/p

LUN is of hdisk6:
LIC Node VPD................0A0C

is this a lun id and same visible to storage guys ?

    This number is the Symmetrix internal device number. It's not the LUN ID that AIX would use. You can get that using the following command "lsattr -El hdiskx |grep lun_id". For CLARiiON or VNX the internal device number is the WWN of the LUN and can be obtained usring "lscfg -vl hdiskx | grep UI".

    you can use inq.aix64_51 script to get the LUN information.

    /usr/lpp/EMC/CLARiiON/bin/inq.aix64_51 for EMC Clariion storage

    /usr/lpp/EMC/Symmetrix/bin/inq.aix64_51 for EMC Symmetrix storage

    you can explore more with inq.aix64_51 -h command.
