Hi All,

WebSphere Application Server Community Edition v3.0.0.1 is now available. It provides the following new features and enhancements:

1) Based on Geronimo 3.0-beta branch and Tomcat 7.0.23
WASCE is based on Apache Geronimo 3.0-beta branch r1296100 and Apache Tomcat 7.0.23 which includes important fixes over Tomcat 7.0.19. Other than the update of Apache Tomcat, WASCE includes important patches since Geronimo 3.0-beta-1.

2) Java SDK upgraded
The supported Java SDK 6 for WASCE has been upgraded to IBM SDK 6 SR10.

3) Installer and runtime support for new platforms
WASCE now supports the following platforms as recommended/compatible ones:
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server Version 6.2
Fedora 16
openSUSE Linux 12.1
Ubuntu 11.10
4) Components upgraded
Apache Tomcat 7.0.23
Apache OpenEJB 4.0.0-beta-1
Apache MyFaces 2.0.9
Apache aries 0.2.2
Apache openwebbeans 1.1.1
Apache axis2 1.6.1
OPS4J pax-logging 1.6.4

5) Feature improvement
WASCE now enables or supports these features which is not available in
Sharedlib feature
Running multiple server instances within one installation
Configuring multiple repositories
Configuring virtual hosts via server.xml
Disabling specific deployers using system properties
Decoupling OpenWebBeans plug-ins from the server

6) Development environment
WASCE Eclipse Plug-in (WEP) for is based on Geronimo Eclipse Plug-in (GEP) trunk r1296406, which supports Eclipse Indigo and Rational Application Developer (RAD) 8.0.
