Pinned topic IHS ErrorDocument

‏2012-03-17T17:56:45Z |
Hi,

We are having problem setting up the ErrorDocument. Seems like IHS is not able to capture the error code and not able to return the proper error page once the context root is configured in the IHS Plugin. Currently we have to remove the mapping in the IHS Plugin to have the errordocument to work. Is there an proper way to do this without modifying the plugin file.

Thanks,
Neo

You can't replace a WAS response with an error code using an ErrorDocument in IHS/Apache.

You can only use them to provide the error response when the WAS plugin itself returns an error code, not when an error response is just being forwarded.

You'll need to take care of this on the backend. Or open a requirement for IHS to override the error response:

thanks ... but then how can we setup the ErrorDocument so that when we stop the websphere installed application, we get the proper error page rather than error page 500 from websphere ?

        Again, you can't.

    Hi,
At my company, we have the same problem, how we can redirect to a custom error page when WAS is down if ErrorDocument is not able to capture an 50X or 40X error?

where we have to configure errordocument property? At IHS, at plugin or other place ?

    Thanks in advanced,
