Hello OPM Forum,
After stopping a database I receive every minute a reminder Alert(e-mail) from OPM 5.1.
Attach you will find the alerting configuration for the event.
Perhaps somebody has the same problem.
Found nothing about this error in the forum nor in the on OPM support.

if you don't want to receive such emails, you need to disable this alert notification using the checkbox which is visible in your screenshot under the "Severity: Warning or Critical" combo box. You can also delete the alert notification altogether if you do not wish to use it in the future.

in the screenshot I see that you have no Reminder Interval set. Therefore you expect that no reminder email is sent, right ?
We will check the behavior of the reminder email in the lab.

I did some additional testing on this and found that if the initial alert notification had the Reminder Interval box checked and an Alert was generated, then a reminder email will continue to be sent even if the box is unchecked later on.
Here are the steps:
1. Enable notification on an Alert(in this case, Monitoring Status), be sure the Reminder Interval is checked.
2. Deactivate the database or take the instance down, then restart.
3. Once the Alert is generated, uncheck the Reminder Interval box.
4. Repeat step 2, new Alerts will not generate a reminder email. The old Alert continues to do so every minute or so, even though the initial reminder time was 15 minutes.
I will take action to get this fixed.

I apologize for not getting back to you sooner, I tested with the latest 5.1.1 build and was not able to reproduce the problem so you will be fine with that version.

Upgrading the OPM to 5.1.1 the error occured again. No success.
After configuring a new database for alerting and stopping the database
each minute I got an email.

I did the same basic steps as before, and the emails alerts stopped from my machine:
Add Alert notification for Database Availability, activate the reminder for 1 minute. After a few emails, uncheck the reminder.
Can you enable tracing for the AlertNotificationLogger and send the resulting file?
Open -> Product Setup -> Services, then click on AlertNotificationLogger and Configure. Set the Log level to Debug, leave the other options the same. This will populate the log file in /opt/IBM/OPM/logs/AlertNotificationLogger.0. This log can also be viewed in Open -> Product Setup -> Logs.

What I'm doing wrong?
Add Alert "New Alert Notification" choose an "alert type" add an email an uncheck "Reminder interval" and last OK.
These are the steps. After stopping the database each minute an email pops up.
What are the steps to get one email for the alert an one email when the alert is closed?

I am finally able to reproduce the problem reliably with these steps:
1. Add Alert "New Alert Notification" choose "Database Availibility"
2. Add an email address
3. Uncheck "Reminder interval", do not change the interval time
4. Check 'Send a notification when an alert is closed"
5. Click OK.
After stopping the database an email will be generated each minute.
1. Now edit the notification and uncheck Enabled, the emails will stop.
2. Edit again and check the Enabled button and they will start back up.
As a workaround, delete the current notification and create a new one with the Reminder interval checked. When you get a reminder email, go back and uncheck it. This should stop the reminders, but will still produce an alert when the database cannot be reached.
I will keep you posted on the progress of the fix(again!).
