    You need to change owner and group to informix

    $ chown informix:informix /opt/IBM/informix/logdir/rootdbs

    You also need to change permission, so only informix has access to the file

    $ chmod 660 /opt/IBM/informix/logdir/rootdbs

    HI, can you share solution for

    Unable to read $INFORMIXDIR (/usr/informix).

    I am getting the same error.

    Have you set AND exported INFORMIXDIR environment variable?

    You'd set it to the directory where Informix is installed.

    E.g.:   export INFORMIXDIR=/opt/informix/1210

    If the environement variable isn't found, its default value is assumed which is /usr/informix.

    HTH,

     Andreas
