‏2012-02-23T08:19:39Z |
hello all,

Managing Server logs of my installation are taking up to 150MB in some of the files.

I changed all the log-files xx.properties but still increasing in size:

log-aa_deletedata.properties:CYN.handler.file.maxFileBytes=10485760
log-aa.properties:CYN.handler.file.maxFileBytes=10485760
log-aa1.properties:CYN.handler.file.maxFileBytes=10485760
log-aa2.properties:CYN.handler.file.maxFileBytes=10485760
log-kl1.properties:CYN.handler.file.maxFileBytes=10485760
log-kl2.properties:CYN.handler.file.maxFileBytes=10485760
log-md.properties:CYN.handler.file.maxFileBytes=10485760
log-pa.properties:CYN.handler.file.maxFileBytes=10485760
log-ps1.properties:CYN.handler.file.maxFileBytes=10485760
log-ps2.properties:CYN.handler.file.maxFileBytes=10485760
log-sam1.properties:CYN.handler.file.maxFileBytes=10485760
log-ws.properties:CYN.handler.file.maxFileBytes=10485760

Where I change the size of these logs if not is in these files.
Thanks.
Abel.

    Please try CYN.handler.file.maxFileBytes=10485760
The parameter dcfile.maxFileBytes is not for MS logs.

    Please try CYN.handler.file.maxFileBytes=10485760
The parameter dcfile.maxFileBytes is not for MS logs.
If you want to decrease more logs, please modify the CYN.handler.file.maxFileBytes=10485760 in cynlogging.properties. In addition, the parameter CYN.handler.snap.maxDiskSpace=10485760 is for FFDC logs in CYN.

According to your descpition, msg-ps1.log&msg-ps2.log is up to 150M, so please modify the paramter CYN.handler.file.maxFileBytes=10485760 in log-ps1.properties and log-ps2.properties.

However, please restart MS or kernel after the above steps.

    Hi Yaner,

The files log-ps1.properties and log-ps2.properties was already change to 10MB.

The parameter CYN.handler.file.maxFileBytes already had the value 10485760 that it is 10MB but the log file is up to 150MB and the MS was already restart.
    Thanks.
    Abel.

    Yaner,

What is the value of your CYN.handler.file.maxFiles = 5?

I have it to CYN.handler.file.maxFiles = 1, can you may have to increase this value?

    Thanks.

CYN.handler.file.maxFiles=5 means the log file will be generated 5 times when log size is more than max size.
For example, I set the maxsize=10M for PS1 logs, when the size of trace-ps1.log is more than 10M, trace-ps2.log will be created.
