Pinned topic Notification Service Sample Problem

‏2012-02-17T11:38:34Z |
I was trying this notification sample application. I completed all the steps provided in the notification sample tutorial . The IP address for the Notifications Application service which I used is 192.168.0.7 and the port used is 9080. But it is not getting registered due to some problems.
The following steps were taken by me:
1) I created APN enabled provisioning profile and created a SSL certificate also.
2) I started the Application server using command :bin/was4d run .
3) Then I generated the the .ipa file and saved it at the location as specified in the sample.
4) I tried running the sample on the device

Anyone who has tried this sample, Please help me.
What can be the possible errors?

    Hello Monica,

You need to use the IP address of your Application server. (192.168.0.7 looks like the IP address that was used in the Notifications sample documentation.)

Try 'ifconfig' if your server is being hosted on a MAC. Or 'ipconfig' if on Windows.

But that would be the IP of the system. In the tutorial, it requires the IP address of Notification Application Service. Are both the IP addresses same?

            Hi Monica,

Yes, the notification and application management services come pre-deployed on the application server provided with the Tech Preview. So once you start the app server, it also starts the notification & app mngmt services automatically. The notification client sample application needs to know where you are hosting these services so that it can register with them accordingly.
