Pinned topic "Invalid argument" message when running "install" binary

‏2012-02-13T20:37:10Z |

I'm trying to install WAS on Solaris 10. I downloaded the Solaris SPARC zip file, then copied it to my guest VM at the directory /opt/websphere. I then unzipped the file to the same directory. Then, I opened a command line and went to the directory /opt/websphere. I ran the command "./install", and receive the output "bash: ./install: Invalid argument" (I am using the bash shell). Can you explain why this binary is not running? Thank you.

Can you clarify which version of WAS you are installing? WAS v8 doesn't have an installer; it uses Install Manager. Are you experiencing the problem when installing Install Manager?
