Pinned topic Does Rational Robot v2003 work on Windows 7?

‏2012-02-13T10:51:41Z |
Hi,

I'm new to Rational Robot and am wondering is anyone else using V2003 on Windows 7. Up to now our scripts which were programmed using Robot v2003 were running on Windows XP but a few of the clients on which we were running these scripts have disc errors and the new clients purchased all have Windows 7 installed.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!!!

p.s. the scripts test software which is to be delivered to a customer who runs our software on XP but have recently installed the software also on windows 7 clients. Naturally the project manager wants to know if it is possible to runs the Rational scripts on Windows XP clients and Windows 7 clients. If this is not possible, how do I find out how much it would cost to upgrade to Rational Robot 7?

Robot V2003 had end of support in sept 2008, see http://www-01.ibm.com/software/rational/support/lifecycle/ , which is before win 7 came out, so I'd be very, very surprised if it worked. IBM certainly won't make it work.
Robot current version (7.0 I think) supports win 7, see http://www-01.ibm.com/software/awdtools/tester/robot/sysreq/

So you can either upgrade Robot or reimage your new PCs. Upgrading Robot is what you should do unless you know you will support your product only for a short time to come.

    Hi Martina,

Thanks for the info. We are now looking into upgrading to Robot 7.0.2 as this version still supports Rational Test Manager which we need for our test suites.
