Pinned topic IBPM 7.5 Sandbox - Unable to Access

‏2012-02-07T12:35:36Z |
I have been trying to access IBPM 7.5 availble through SOA Sandbox. As per requirement, I have installed the Citrix SSO Plugin and Citrix Receiver ver 13.1.0.89. Even then I'm not able to access the Sandbox environment. when I try to access the "Start your sandbox session now" link, I get a "Network Error".
Network Error

A communication error occurred: "Connection refused"

This is the URL that gets generated : http://204.90.115.95:10212/Citrix/MetaFrame/default/login.aspx

Please help.

Thanks,
Neha

I am also getting a network connection error, generated by Citrix.

'The network connection to your application was interupted. Try to access your application later, or contact your helpdesk.'

I am attempting to use the WebSphere MQ and WebSpehere MQ Advanced Messaging Security sandboxes at http://204.90.115.95:10220/Citrix/MetaFrame/default/default.aspx.

I have discovered that if I right click on the icon, in the 'applications' window, for the sandbox I want to launch and select 'open in new tab', a connection is made. However a windows 2003 login box appears and unfortunately I do not know what username and password combination I should use. I have tried the username and password which I used to log into developer works, but this does not work.

Can anybody shed some light on this?

      Many thanks,

      Tim

        Hello,
I typically recommend that you review the FAQ here
        http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/downloads/connection-faqs.html#ctrx
to see if altering your firewall config (or having a admin perform this temporarily) helps. As Sandboxer has pointed out, corporate firewall rules can be the culprit and attempting a connection from home is more successful.

        2FSX_Timothy_Quigley,
        Ok, try this...
Go into Internet Explorer (even if you never use it, it appears tht Citrix Receiver integrats with it *anyway*). Go to the Tools menu, then the Internet Options item. Click on the Security tab. Select the Trusted Sites icon. Then click th Sites button. Ok, now that you are in the right place, the idea is to specify the ip addresses for the SOA Sandbox gateway routers as trusted ip addresses. Apparently, the Citrix Receiver uses this region definition scheme to set the degree of "lockdown" required for Citrix Servers.

        http://198.81.193.65
        http://198.91.193.170

This seems to be a potential fix for people who use Citrix Reciever in Win7. I am not sure that it will help everyone in that situation, and some people may find it unacceptable to add these as non-https sites in the trusted list.

    NTarey and others,

I am very sorry about how often this is happening. These problems appear to be due to firewall policies that are outside of our control, mostly in the home networks or even client machines of our valued potential customers. I am contacting IBM security experts to help us understand what parts of our offerings might need to change so that they are more compatible with your security practices.
This is not an easy line of investigation because your security practices are confidential and proprietary property of your environments. Please do not discuss or even speculate on those security practices in this forum.
If your company would like to enable its employees to access the IBM Online Trials (including the SOA Sandbox and the Enterprise Modernization Sandbox) from their work networks, please contact me directly at adickson@us.ibm.com so that we can start a secure conversation about how that could be best accomplished.

Ooops, correction, the first two appenders in this thread appear to be suffering from firewall blocks preventing them from accessing the cloud instances that they requested. 2FSX_Timothy_Quigley is possibly suffering a different difficulty.

There are firewall policies that interrupt the Citrix session just after connection, but there are other causes of the same problem. One such cause is a Citrix Receiver connection policy that requires that the remote Citrix server accept only encrypted connections. Our servers are configured to accept encrypted or unencrypted connections. For some users, those Citrix Connection policies can be adjusted on their client machine, allowing connections to work. Unfortunately, for some others the client settings are centrally controlled and would have the same effect as the previously mentioned firewall rules.
