Pinned topic Controller configuration has unsupported RDAC mode Error Code: 1624, Event

‏2012-02-06T08:01:22Z |
Hey,

I have a Storwize V7000, latest firmware. I keep getting this event - Controller configuration has unsupported RDAC mode
Error Code: 1624, Event ID: 010033. I also have 2 external storage systems attached to V7000 - DS4700 and DS4500. On both systems 4500,4700 I have defined V7000 as a host and type IBM TS SAN VCE. Why do I keep getting this error?
When I run recommended actions, it fixes and then again: "The disk discovery reported new events with code 1624. The incorrect configuration may still exist."
Any ideas?

I'm in the same boat at you Oliver. Check if AVT is enabled on those subsystems using Storage Manager (http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/svc/ic/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.ibm.storage.svc.console.doc%2Fsvc_fastcontcong_1ev5il.html)

Ensure that the AVT option is enabled. The host type selection should have already enabled the AVT option. View the storage system profile data to confirm that you have the AVT option enabled. This storage profile is presented as a text view in a separate window.

    Hello,

In the detail of the message you should have the WWN of the storage issuing the message, i would first double check (even if you've already done) that all ports of the V7000 are defined on the DS part. Also check the firmware level of your DS.

    Hi,

you get this message if you did not set up the DS as it is supported.

For the V7000 you have to defin a "Host Group", within that Host Group you have to define a "Host" for each V7000 Controller/Node with the right WWPN's and then you have to create a Mapping of the defined Logical Drives to the "Host Group".

Normaly if you do nothing just formating the Logical Drives the V7000 can access the Logical Drives. Both, V7000 and the Logical Drives are at this time in the "Default Group". But that's the "incorrect configuration" and you receive a 1624.

I was also facing the same issue(i.e event 1624),customer has put the v7000 and ds3950 in same zoning due to which ds was visible in v7000 external storage.by changing the zoning event was removed
