On my system I installed the IBM Web Experience Factory. Whereas I already have IBM Websphere Portal Server installation.
Whenever I try to run the demo application(or publish it) that I have created for learning pupose I get the following message -
"The WAS CE server does not appear to be started"
Is this problem due to the portal server installation. If not how can I resolve it.

It sounds like the server configuration for your project is setup for WAS CE, which is completely different than Portal Server. If you want to target Portal Server you need to create a new server configuration for the WebSphere Portal Server. You can do this from the Publish menu(or Project properties), and then Create Server Configuration.
