I believe that the "ServeRaid CD" is a tool for configuring your system's RAID prior to an operating system install while the "Server Guide CD" assists you with installing Linux or windows onto the server.

Here is a link to the Server Guide CD
and one to the ServeRAID CD software matrix

    Thankyou.

It seems, I have to download the Server Guide 7.4 for the x335
and then have again to bother with the x235 and x345...

If I am right, for the later two I have to use Server Guide 7.1
    Thanks, Greetings and nice Day/Evening

I was not able to find a download for "Server Guide 7.1" on the IBM site. It may no longer be available through supported channels.

You may not need it, though. If Linux can recognize the RAID hardware then you should be able to do the OS install without the disk. I would give it a shot without it. I don't think you'd lose anything by trying.
