Pinned topic FTP to SalesForce (XML format Error)

‏2012-01-30T06:23:17Z |
Hi.

I experience the following errors from FTP to salesforce(update/upsert).
Does anybody came across this.

This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it.
The document tree is shown below.

<?xml version="1.0"?>
<out:objects xmlns:out="urn:sobject.partner.soap.sforce.com" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xs4xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"/>
<out:objects/>

Thanks
suresh

    Hi Suresh,

    Can you give me a little more information? It looks like Express has processed an FTP file from your source - did it upsert any records to salesforce.com? Did the activity feed in Express tell you some records were updated?

    There isn't necessarily anything wrong with the XML output you've pasted in here, assuming that there were no records in the source FTP file to be processed, and that Express correctly informed you of this. The stylesheet warning is being added by the browser you are using to view the XML output.

    Thanks,
    Chris

    Hi Suresh,

    This XML looks like the output from the transformation step of the integration. It suggests that the file retrieved from the FTP source was found not to have any records. (Normally, there would be child elements inside the objects element, one for each Salesforce.com object produced as a result of transforming the records contained in the input file.) Were you expecting to see some number of records in this case?

      Hi.

      Thanks for the reply.
      Things which I had done
      1.Created simple table in salesforce with fields Name,EmpNo,Dept
      2.Created a single record (Sam,1001,IT) in excel sheet and saved as "People.CSV"
      3.Uploaded the People.csv to the ftp server.
      4.Mapped the csv file columns with salesforce object.
      5.Started the transformation.

      After few seconds I get the following message in the express Integration activity.

      Integration "FTP to salesforce.com" completed processing People.csv. 0 People__c object(s) updated in salesforce.com

      when I click the link "0 People__c object(s)" it shows the above xml error.

      I'm trying to update/upsert only single record from ftp to salesforce.
      Attached the screen shot of integration activity.
      Using win7 OS(Japanese version).

      Another question:
      if you look into the attached screen shot at the bottom there is an error message like below which I don't understand

      "Error is Input length =1"

      thanks
