Pinned topic valueFormat usage

‏2011-12-16T15:56:52Z |
Hello

I could not find a clear definition of valueFormat usage in the ODME documentation

For instance, I used

{0,number, 0
}%

to display a number with 0 digits and in percentage format.

What is the grammar of these value formats ? Is this documented ?

Thanks

David

    Hi,

Complete documentation for value formats can be found at the following sites:

    http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/wsadhelp/v5r1m2/index.jsp?topic=/com.sun.api.doc/java/text/MessageFormat.html

    http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/wsadhelp/v5r1m2/index.jsp?topic=/com.sun.api.doc/java/text/DecimalFormat.html

The type of the column must be compatible with the type expected by the value format.

    Regards

For percentage format value, how can I format a number 0.45 like this : 45%

Or is it required to have the original number already between 0 and 100 (e.g 45) ?

No, but we do not intend to . Other issues were found with derived columns on previous projects :-(
