I am currently using WebSphere version 6.1 in windows, and I was planning to migrate to Linux version, using back the same version number which is 6.1. May I know how much work do I need to cater for doing this? Is it just as simple as install the WebSphere in Linux box after that deploy my web app then done?

There is no difference in the SIP container code between Linux and windows.
Applications that are deployed on windows can be deployed on Linux without changes.
Note that other parameters, especially OS specific tuning parameters, should me modified for different Operation Systems.
