Pinned topic Silent Install WebSphere with InfoSphere Warehouse Console

Topic: Silent Install WebSphere with InfoSphere Warehouse Console

Is there a description how to silent install WebSphere Application Server with InfoSphere Warehouse Console out of InfoSphere Warehouse Server Install Package (V 9.5.1).

I searched with google and searched the ibm.com sites.

Silent install of WebSphere Application Server is no problem. Silent installing the InfoSphere Warehouse Console seems not documented, or I don't see it.

Does anybody have information about installing silent the InfoSphere Warehouse Console incl. setting the properties.

Thanks.

    Hi again,

the installation files are original installation files from IBM.
We used them about 2 years ago to install Infosphere with GUI. So, these are the same files. DB2 instance in same Version is on that Server.
But now, I don't have GUI rights on server.
Actually, I tried to generate Response File from Infosphere Warehouse Installation on an Windows machine. Because, only on Windows, I have an available GUI.
I changed Response File, so that Messages like "Could not find bean ..." disappeared.
I guess, the exception above means, there are still faults in response file.
So, my question is: How do I get an Linux Response File for InfoSphere Warehouse, without having a GUI on Linux? Or is there anywhere a description of response files? Maybe in a Redbook? I did not found a descripton with google.

    Greets,

    Thomas

    Hi Thomas,

Can you confirm which version of Linux are you using? It may be possible that the version of Linux you are using was not supported with Warehouse 9.5.1 release. Mainly we supported RHEL 4/5 and SLES 9/10 with the 9.5.1 releease.

    http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/db2luw/v9r5/topic/com.ibm.dwe.install.doc/getstart11.html

It will be great if you can provide us with the exact version of the OS you are running with. And we will try to investigate further on the issue.
    thanks,

    Bo

    Hi Bo,

    thanks for the reply.

We are using SLES 10. (Patchlevel 3)

We downloaded IBM install files V9.5.1 about 2 years ago. We installed DB2 Client 9.5.1 with GUI.

The install files were left on Server until now. So, they are the same, we were using for GUI install.
