Pinned topic Invalid option 'NUMITEMS'

‏2011-12-06T18:49:01Z |
I'm using RDz with TXSeries, I launch this command:
EXEC CICS
WRITEQ TS
QUEUE (WS-COLA-RESP)
FROM (WS-TEMP-RTA)
LENGTH (WS-RESP-LENGTH)
MAIN
NUMITEMS (WS-IND-ITEM)
RESP (WS-CICS-ERROR)
END-EXEC.

And I get an error like this:
'ERZ004023E: Invalid command option 'NUMITEMS'.

The variable WS-IND-ITEM is declared as PIC S9(4) COMP.
Besides, I' have problems using this commands:

ASRAPSW
ASRAREGS.

If anyone has any help for me and for the forum, I'll thank you.

Greetings!

Are you trying to run these in the TXSeries runtime environment, or are you trying to perform syntax check against these statements? If you are trying to use these in the TXSeries runtime, the APIs for TXSeries do not match up exactly with CICS TS syntax. Here is a list of the supported APIs by the TXSeries runtime:

    http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/txformp/v7r1/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.cics.tx.doc/reference/r_cics_api_cmd_ref.html

    Sincerely,

    Hi Richard,

I'm doing syntax check against these statements when I get the error message.

Maybe Rational for System z does not support this statements, or maybe there's a mistake on the compiler options of CICS.

I'm using the following CICS compiler option:
    CICSNT -lIBMCOB -adesvp

Have you got any idea of what could be this problem?

    Thank you!

    Greets,
    Juan Cruz.

Just as Richard pointed out, NUMITEMS is not listed as valid option for the TXSeries WRITEQ TS API.

    Hi Gary,

Ok, if you can not use commands that are not available for TXSeries API, how I can replace those commands?

    Is that possible?

    Greetings

    Hi Juan Cruz ,

I see that you cross-posted the NUMITEMS question to the TXSeries forum. The TXSeries forum is indeed the right place to contain this thread.

    Thanks,

    Gary
