Pinned topic Volume Size

Hey everyone,

Is it possible to create volumes bigger than 8gb? I've done some googling but there isn't much out there.

Thanks in advance

    Re: Volume Size

Yes it is possible. You can create up to a model 3390 mod 9 by specifying the device type with the -d parameter. To go larger than that you must specify number of cylinders for the device. You do this by using the -s number-of-cylinders parameter. The maximum size is 65520 cylinders for a “normal” 3390, or 268,435,456 cylinders for a “large” 3390. We have successfully created mod 27 and even mod 54 sized devices.
