Pinned topic User and role creation in script?

‏2011-11-30T14:34:44Z |
Hi guys,

Is it possible to create users and roles in a server side script?

Unfortunately did not found any function indicating this opportunity.
No "addUser" and "addRole" function found in then tw.system.org namespace.

We know, that it is possible to create users and roles in the Process Admin, but we want to give out these funtions to our customers in a coach.

Thanks,
Leslie

Have you tried 'User, Group, and Role APIs'?
    http://wiki.lombardi.com/display/tw7/User%2C+Group%2C+and+Role+APIs'

I never used that, but perhaps it might give you
    a direction (in teamworks 7.1).

    Asaf.

There is not an API to do this. Mainly this has not been done as most customers do not wind up using the internal provider in production, but rather wind up using LDAP or something along those lines. It is therefore assumed that the security provider in use will have its own UI and rules for creation of users and groups.

If you feel an API for creation of internal users and groups is needed please file an enhancement with PLM. Note that you can maintain Participant Group Membership via an API.

    Hi Andrew,
Is this API the JavaScript API used in services or is there an external API that can be executed from external apps/scripts?
