Pinned topic Working with Rational COBOL Runtime V6.0 (EGL)

‏2011-11-09T20:33:47Z |
Hey All,

I've got my UT box up and running now and would like to take the EGL Build Server and COBOL Runtime for a test drive. Can anyone tell me what PDS' this is installed in by default and how to start it?

Thanks in advance!

    Scott,
Sorry for the delay on responding. Wanted to make sure I have things correct. EGL/cobol runtime is FMID HACZ601 and has a bunch of PTFs to bring it to v801. On UT, HACZ601 installs in ELA601.* with LLQ SELA* for the target libraries.

To get it to work, you must customize and start the build servers, SELASAMP(CCUMVS, CCURUNM, and CCURUNU). There is also pseudo-JCL that must be customized, SELASAMP(FDA*).

    SELALMD must be APF authorized.

The RBD infocenter should have more details on customization.

      Hey John,

Just to clarify, I need to apply every single one of these PTF's? https://www-304.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg27015675

        Scott,
The 8.0.3 code we ship is at PUT level 1003. Looking at your list it appears you will need UK54380 and above. When you run the SMPE receive jobs, they will tell you if the PTFs are already on the system.

          Hey John,

So I'm assuming the JCLs for the SMPe stuff is in the following dataset ELA601.AELAJCL? What was used for the #tzone, #dzone, #globalcsi, etc.??? These members look to be out of the box still.

            Scott,
Take a look at the datasets with hlq of ELA601. You should see ELA601.AELAJCL, ELA601.GLOBAL.CSI, ELA601.ELA601D.CSI, ELA601.ELA601T.CSI.
