Pinned topic After working all Summer am now receiving an error message (ERROR [42968]

Hi --
After downloading and installing the DB2 driver on my machine, I had the connection established and was doing some proof of concepts. I downloaded and installed in early June. Now I am getting the following error:
ERROR 42968 IBM SQL1598N An attempt to connect to the database server failed because of a licensing problem. SQLSTATE=42968

Does the download have a trial license period (maybe 90 days - I had backburnered this for about 6 weeks)?

    Hi,

unless the server you're connecting to is located on z/OS or iSeries system, there are no licencing requirements for the client. If you're connecting to the DB2 server located on Windows or Linux/Unix system, the message you're receiving indicates that the server was installed with a trial licence and that licence had expired. Please contact your DBA and get them to update the server licence.

    Regards,
    Alex

Yes, that did it. I needed our dbsconsv_ee.lic and then I used the db2licm command to register. Thanks!
