Pinned topic ISA 1.4.2 unable to install on Win XP SP3

‏2011-10-14T08:24:05Z |
I have user with admin rights.
jdk 1.6.0_20 installed.
After starting the installer exe I get a dialog giving progress of windows installer (unpacking the msi) followed by a Windows Installer Dialog giving the installers flags, one button for OK, click OK and the installation quits.

Found this technote MustGather: Read first for IBM Support Assistant V4doc that has details of the logging flag for the installer.

    http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21302788

I found my %TEMP% had two directories listed in it - like a class path.

I explicitly set the log file using the command line as detailed in the above doc ... problem solved.

      • installer now runs. But the %TEMP% variable now causes the installation to fail.
Setting %TEMP% in the command window alone does not work - the installer must be using the system level variable.

Resetting %TEMP% at the system level worked.
      Now all problems are solved.
