Pinned topic JSF with AJAX

‏2011-09-28T08:41:31Z |
Hi ,
I'm newbie to both JSF and AJAX.
In my application i want to prompt data using rich:extendedDataTable. There i have set noDataLable = "No records found"
and i need to display this if there are no records in the list. But now i'm getting this message first even if the list have data and then it's loading the data. I want to set other initial message like "loading data..". I couldn't find a way to do this.
Could any help on this.

This is the code piece
<rich:extendedDataTable height="200px;" width="100%" enableContextMenu="false"
selectionMode="single" selection="#{policeOfficerPromptBean.selectionArea}" styleClass="mid_tablemain"
value="#{policeOfficerPromptBean.policeOfficerList}" var="officerObj" columnClasses="promptCol20, promptCol80"
id="dataTables" binding="#{policeOfficerPromptBean.tableArea}" noDataLabel="#{bundle.app_no_record_found}">

Thanks in advance..

    Try it:

    Remove the "noDataLabel" attribute, then using <h:message/> to rendering "No records found" whenever it happened.

    Once u remove "noDataLabel", the "extendedDataTable" are supposed to show a "processing" icon.

    With JSF 2.0 use the built-in support for Ajax with the f:ajax tag.
